I have tried unsuccessfully twice to purchase a bus ticket on-line from Rome to Siena from Baltour. Both failures have involved a post-payment processing error. Is it pretty likely I would be able to purchase a ticket at the bus station just prior to the departure (I'm hoping for 12:30 pm on Sunday, September 3), or is it important to purchase the ticket ahead of time? How simple or complicated is it to purchase a bus ticket in the station in Rome?

Forget Baltour. Try Flixbus. It is clean efficient service.

Thank you for the suggestion. I had looked at Flixbus' schedule when I had trouble with Baltour, but their departures don't work as well with my schedule.

Buy the ticket on the day of travel. Some newsstands also sell long distance bus tickets and can give you schedule information.
