I'm tyring to buy tickets by train from Roma Termni to Perugia, but the Trenitalia website only has two trains schedule to buy, at 19:50 pm and at 20:50 pm. I think it's odd that there's only two trains in late afternoon or early evening as choices. When I looked on EURORAIL (a more expensive option since they take a commission) they have a lot of trains leaving at all times during the day (and the Trenitalia train #s are shown). How can this be? I assume that there must be something wrong with the Trenitalia website. I see that the train leaves Roma Termini and then goes to Foglino, then goes past Assisi to Perugia. Sometimes there's direct trains and sometimes there's trains that change at Foglino. But I can't seem to purchase these tickets on Trenitalia website. Also, I want to stay in the Old Town Perugia, so what is the best stop to get off, "Perugia" or "Perugia Ponte S. Giovanni". I did some research on Google and it seems confusing. What train stop would I get off to visit Old Town Perugia. Thanks!
Are you plugging in a date after June 10? Schedules are not complete for those dates as official updates are June 10. Try using The same day of the wee but within the net 7 days to see what is usual. Unless it is a high-speed train you cannot buy far in advance anyway.
Thank you! I tried it (put a sample date in for April 30th) and it worked. Mystery solved. :)
Do you know what the stop would be to get off in Perugia Old Town? There's 2 Perugia stations on the stops on the train line. There's "Perugia" and "Perugia Ponte S. Giovanni". Thanks!
Ponte S. Giovanni is really a separate town. Use the plain Perugia destination.
