Can you suggest the best way to get from Paris to Rome. With the negitive remarks about Ryanair and finding out easyjet does not have the option of Rome to Paris, I need some advice on this matter. We are flying home from Paris because the flight is short for the return flight and we will be traveling with a 7 year old.
Stacey....easyjet does indeed fly Paris Orly to Rome Ciampino. Spanish discount airline Vueling flies from Paris CDG to Rome Fiumicino. Ive travelled on both, and find both to be good airlines. Easiest places to locate discount airline flights in Europe are skyscanner.net, whichbudget.com, and flylc.com. If you find something you like, go directly to the airline's website....don't book thru any booking engine. That way, you'll get all the info on check-in and baggage regulations. On routes where there is discount competition, you may also want to check the "big boys"...in your case, Air France and Alitalia. They might offer comparative fares, but better schedules.
I'm not going to get into a discussion about Ryanair except to say we flew it from Paris to Rome last summer and couldn't have been happier. We knew what to expect and were happy with how much we saved.
My 12 yr old dd and I flew Vueling last summer from Paris to Rome, it was great. They use major airports ( not far out satellite ones) and they also purchase their planes new,,some discount airlines buy second hand airplanes to use,, eww.
Thank you very much for your input. I am pleased to know there are options.
I have also contacted Jason, the tour guide that was mentioned for Rome. Come to find out, he is from Lafayette, LA as well. He asked about crawfish!
