Rome to Malta

First I would like to go from Venice to Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore), & then to Florence, and then to Rome. Is this possible on a point to point ticket?

From Rome, I would like to fly into Malta, using Air Malta. I think this is the only way I can get there.

Most assuredly the train trip is possible on point to point tickets. These will be three different tickets but that hardly presents a problem.

Looks like Alitaia also flies to Malta from Rome as well.
