TRAVEL LOVERS: Your experience with tour groups? I've NEVER done one! I've ALWAYS travelled independently for years, but I'm considering it for the first time. Reasons: 1. To have a different experience. 2. Though I've been to various cities in Italy over the years, my travel partner hasn't and I'd love for her to have a great first experience. 3. I'm feeling just a tad lazy about planning. 4. We're also going to Greece and since I've never been, I'm wondering if a tour would not be ideal. Your thoughts? If I don't do a tour, my plan is to Rick Steves the whole thing.
Also, any feedback on the best way to organize the transportation would be great (e.g. fly to Rome then go to Greece from there?? Or Greece first?)
