Does anyone have an idea what impact the May 1 holiday and the Pope Paul II beatification will have on staying in Rome during these dates?
Dear Peter, I could not say for sure. However, May is the very end of the shoulder season in Rome. In fact it might even be the very beginning of the high season. Rome has all types of accommodations. If you are looking for the most bang for the buck, and a good location you need to book early, in my opinion. I would begin some intense searching now. By the way, some people say that May is the best time, except perhaps for October, to visit Rome, so good luck, and happy travels. William
According to my customers in Poland, all of the Polish and convent/monastery "reasonable" accommodations are booked.
Papers claim a little short of half a million extra pilgrims for the Canonization.
