My boyfriend and I want to travel down the Romantic Road from Rothenburg to Munich in September.
We wish to do this by bus. Does anyone know of any bus companies that we could use? I have performed numerous searches on the internet but can only find "tours".
I would really appreciate some ideas.

Search on the German Rail query page. If you put in, say, "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" to "Noerdlingen", you should get local bus connections from Rothenburg to Dombühl to Feuchtwangen to Dinkelsbühl to Nördlingen. From Nördlingen to Augsburg to München, the trip is better done by train.
The Romantic Road Coach (a tour) also runs between these towns, but only one trip per day, with no stops (at least not long enough to get off and sightsee).
I did this years and years ago. I had student eurail pass and it gave me a discount on a bus that took us on the Romantische Strasse. I think, but maybe somebody has more current info, that the route for this is only for tourists. I looked online and found this site.http://www.romantischestrasse.de/upmedia/EuropabusFahrplan2008.pdf It looks a lot like the trip I remember doing all those years ago. So, while it's a tour, it's really pretty independent.
