Romania Advice

I am spending 8 days in Romania and I was wondering if anyone has taken buses or trains between cities, it looks like buses are quicker but I can't find enough information

Starting Bucharest then Brasov, Sibiu and Cluj Napoca.

I took primarily buses as I traveled around Romania in 2015. They were fine, but some of the routes required advance reservations made by telephone. One couldn't simply go by the bus station ahead of time and buy a ticket. Tickets were sold by the driver or an assistant just before departure, but to be sure of getting on the bus, you needed to have made that telephone reservation. Not all buses were subject to this rule. It was really odd, and uncomfortable for foreigners worried about conversing over the telephone with someone who might not speak Romanian. I was fortunate to find a couple of kind local people to make the reservations for me.
