Hi, my daughter is taking a trip across Europe and Im a really conerned mother..now i dont want her to take her phone because the international rates are just way too high.... is roam simple any good? I want to be able to contact her at all times... how is their signal? Their prices seem to be very cheap...but are their any hidden fees? has anyone used roam simple?

Roam simple rates from EU countries are .89 per minute to call the US, .49/min to receive calls. Plus an up-front $28 for the SIM.
Your D won't pay that much more to use her own phone if she has T-Mobile or AT&T, and she won't pay an extra $28. If she has Verizon they have a free loaner phone program.

I'm a believer in Roam Simple. Used it in Italy and in Africa. Took my AT&T blackberry to Africa thinking I was being economical. Came home with a $700 + phone bill. Granted some was from internet services but I was really disenchanted. The cool thing with Roam Simple is that you know how much you are spending ahead of time

Roam Simple is what we use, you still need to be brief. Use texting, it is free. Skype, through your computer (cheap camera mic $10), is free, if you want to call a land line there is a small charge per month. That way you can use the phone for emergencies and catch up on things with Skype.
