A question to forumers in Germany. We are doing an 8 day Rhine cruise from Amsterdam to Basel on 8th April this year. First time we have undertaken this type of trip. Hoping river levels are up, having read of low levels late last year disrupting cruises.
It snowed pretty heavily in the Alps this year, so the levels should be fine.

But high water also causes problems - the boats cannot get under the bridges. You need average heights.
Yes, I have heard of high river levels being a problem. However, the boat on which we will be cruising, is one of the newest in the Uniworld fleet and apparently has been designed to cope with this situation.
Costa has a couple of those new boats - it is called sinking.
