Has anyone used one of these? If so, did you like it? Thanks!
I like it better than the waist one.
I used the RS silk neck wallet on my first tour. Liked the silk but not the strap. Changed to Stashbandz moneybelt which I like a lot. It stretchy and with four pockets spread around, it doesn’t add bulk. https://www.stashbandz.com/pages/travel-money-belt
My preference apart from the moneybelt is the RS hidden pocket, except rather than thread the loops over a belt I safety-pin the loops to the bottom inside of a front trouser pocket. Rather more comfortable (and less of a spectacle to access) than a money belt.
I have a silk neck wallet from another vendor, and love it. Make sure the adjustment rings are small, so they won't dig into your skin.
My issue with the waist band moneybelt is that mine only has one zipper pocket. I don't trust the pockets without a fastener.
Good luck!
That's what I use whenever we travel. It works better for me than the ones that involve a belt or your waistband. Easy for me to fish it out if needed by pulling the strap up through my neckline. I put it on before leaving the plane, because airports can be chaotic. (Just remember to take it off before you go through security if you have a connecting flight.)
DH has used the RS neck wallet for years. My neck wallet is by a different manufacturer, made of lingerie fabric, and with a length adjuster on the strap that is the same as those on bra straps. I find it easier to access than a money belt. Most especially if I'm wearing a dress!
It's the only thing my husband and I use. I love it and we both wear it to the inside of our shirt.
I use what looks like the exact same design - but a cotton blend material. I've also tried a money belt. Prefer the former. Depending on what I am carrying (usually only c.cards), it can easily be folded in half and take up even less space. However, I often wear the straps around my waist rather than around my neck (female attire so tops often have a scoop neck design, and the straps would show). In that instance I tuck the adjustment bead into a pocket. I found the large stretch bands of typical money belts to be uncomfortable.
I use it. I like the compartments. However, I have had the cord come apart from the neck wallet and had to use a safety pin to keep it together until the end of a trip.
I use my Rick Steves neck wallet on travel days, for ease of access. I don't use it on sightseeing days because I don't want it around my neck competing with purse and audio guides.
On sightseeing days I use a money belt or hidden wallet, for which I've sewn D rings into the waistband of trousers and attach with 2 claw clips through the 2 loops for the belt.
I had the neck wallet but really don’t like anything hanging around my neck, so I took to pinning it to the inside waistband of my slacks with two large safety pins. Someone above mentioned doing something similar with the hidden pocket. This worked well, but I didn’t like how thick it was so I sewed my own pocket out of thinner material. I put two buttonholes at the top of the pocket and I sew two buttons on the waistband of whatever slacks I’ll take on the trip. I’ve used this system happily for years. I have photos describing what I’m describing. PM me if you’re interested.
Thanks for the great ideas! I'm planning to wear it over the shoulder rather than around my neck and under my clothes, of course.
