Rick Steves' Luggage Weight

I am in a bit of a hurry. I was staying in Prague for 2.5 months with 2 of the older Rick Steves' Luggage's (one is soft sided). After the long trip I have accumulated a lot of souvenirs so the bags are packed tight. Unfortunately all of the weighing options in Prague are no longer working short of traveling to the airport to weigh them. Does any one know what a Rick Steves' bag packed completely full (hard to close) weighs? I am flying to Brussels in the morning and currently have the limits of 1 checked baggage at 20kg and 10kg carry on. Should I prepay for 5kg and another checked baggage to bring my total to 2 checked baggage at 25kg and one 10kg carry on (using the Rick Steves' heavy duty backpack)?

Let me know if this post needs clarification. I am writing this in a hurry.

I think that a lot depends on what you carry in the bag. Just clothes are pretty light.

I have a vintage 2000 RS bag, about 2¾# empty, convertible bag. When I fly to Europe I am generally just under Lufthansa's 8 kg limit. I pack no shoes, but I do have (sometimes) a 1# rechargeable razor, and a laptop charger, and charger and spare battery for my camera. Those are about the only heavy objects. When packed, my bag is nowhere near full and, like I said, is close to 8 kg.

If both of your bags are carry on size, then the checked bag limit of 20 KG or 44 pounds seems pretty adequate. I think it would be pretty hard to put 40plus pounds of stuff in a carry on bag, but then I don't know what kind of souvenirs you are transporting either.
