Rick Steves - Brazil?

I have been using Rick's books (website, travel gear, audio tour, podcasts, etc) for over a decade and truly appreciate his approach. However, I want to go to brazil AND find an approach similar to Rick's. Suggestions?

What are you talking about when you say his approach? You could try checking the Rick on Radio tab above, and see if he has any podcasts about Brazil. He often covers areas on his radio show that he doesn't have guide books for, and he sometimes recommends other guidebooks about those areas.

Reasonable, fun, knowledgeable bed and breakfasts. Trying to live like a local. Great suggestions - big sites and overlooked gems. That is what I mean by his approach. :)
Thanks for the help - found a broadcast hat will help. Hopefully here is a book suggestion in there. Thanks again.

Squid, I don't know of any other books with the same format as the RS Guidebooks, but you might have a look at the Lonely Planet products.

Rough Guides are also worth looking at.

I think I would check out Trip Adivisor, Lonely Planet and Fodors. They all offer forums online where you can ask questions, and guide books for the whole world. My favorite thing about Trip Advisor is the fact that they have Destination Experts to answer questions about the finer points of pretty much anywhere in the world you want to go.
