Which book would be best for: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Russia and Sweden? Thank you,
Lori

Lori, These would probably be best.... > Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Sweden - RS "Scandinavia" (only covers select parts of Estonia and Finland) > Germany - RS "Germany" (or narrow it down to Regional Guides such as Munich & Bavaria if you'll only be visiting those areas. > Russia - Lonely Planet "Russia" (also sold on this website). Some of the books are also available as E-books in different formats. Hope that helps. Happy travels!

Rick Steve's guided are great for the big cities and highlight places on a "Europe in 21 Days" or "Scandinavia in 14 days" or "London in 7 days" type of tours. Rick's more general books are a good start for planning a general itinerary if you do not have specific places on your must see list. If you are going into the bush or off the beaten paths, you will need to add Lonely Planet or similar guides, or specialty guides such as the Cicirone guides or Lonely Planet Walking in (fill in the blank) guides if you want to do trecking. Best will depend on what you want to do and where in these countries you want to explore.

I love RSs books, but agree you should add a Lonely Planet guide or two. Rick covers main places,,and Russia( and Estonia) are not really main tourist destinations for American tourists.. he may touch on some places very lightly( since I have never been to Russia I can't really comment on what coverage he has if any on Russia).
He does great Germany though.

And, just in case you want to go to Turkey in the future, RS Istanbul Guide Book is great, but you need a Llonely Planet Turkey Guide Book if going elsewhere in the country as we found out when we visited there recently.
