There is usually a banner in the forum announcing Rick’s annual Holiday sale. Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to purchase something.
Seeing the 20 year anthology reminds me I got a mailing direct from Bread for the World telling me I can get one free from them as a thank you gift for making a $100 donation.
I ordered his TOP 100 Masterpieces, History & Art for the Traveler, and Through the Back Door (a gift). When we go to art museums, we always take a guided tour or rent the audio. We can appreciate the painting more when we understand the reasons for its significance or the subject matter. I never took any art history or appreciation classes so I think these books will be like a mini course. Hope everyone enjoys their purchases.
Thanks, Barbara.
TMI, but when I see your name I can't help but think of "Barbara Ann" by the Beach Boys.
Oh yeah, my friends too. We have a friend, Susan, and her song was Run Around Sue. Still is.
I picked up some travel pouches for charging cords as gifts for every day work use. I also bought two packable duffles. I intend to use them for dirty laundry when I can travel again. I couldn't resist. I am weak...
Thats ok Sun,, you are playing to yr strengths
Doric8,
The strength of a credit card and online shopping ... Now, that's power!
I guess I have reached a point where I am going in reverse. Instead of figuring out how to use non-travel items for packing, I am now figuring out how to use travel specific items for ordinary, every day uses.
Barbara, thanks for the Art and History for Travelers book idea. It was only after I got home for Italy last year that I realized how woefully ignorant I am. Time to improve my learning curve before my next trip. I also ordered Rick's 20 year CD set. Any show I want to see is never on PBS when I want to see a it and I don't want to sit in front of the computer.
