I didn't see that anyone had posted a link and I just thought this blog of Rick's was hilarious. I particularly loved where the YouTube voice recognition software said chicken patty for Cinque Terre...among many other funnies!
Auto-correct of written text can come up with some dandies. A favorite among lawyers is the " pubic defender."
LOL Lola! Someone here (I think it was this forum?) posted a youtube video recently of a guy walking thru some back lanes in London giving a commentary. I first started watching it just with the subtitles but it was impossible to figure out what they guy was actually saying. Apparently the youtube voice recognition does not actually pick up a a British accent very well!
Funny! Thanks for posting the link, Pam!
I also explored Chiquita Banana Rachel for half a day a while ago, she was quite exotic and really very lovely.
Pam,
Thanks for posting that, it's hilarious. That's exactly why I proofread texts before hitting the "Send" button as the stupid machine frequently makes mistakes. The machine is getting better though, and I now consider that it's got at least half a brain.
In one minor example, even Rick's editors didn't get the correct version....
"In Iran, one religious saying you’ll hear everywhere you go is “enchilada.” (Inch’Allah)"
I believe the correct spelling is Inshallah or insha-Allah (God willing).
On a former job, my colleagues and I used to love it when auto-correct always changed our supervisor's name to Heartache whenever we typed it.
