Hello, I'm heading to Spain, Egypt and the Benelux countries. How does the new Rick Steves History & Art compare to the old Mona Winks? I still have my 1997 version with the chapters not ripped out from these countries. Should I buy the new 101 for an update and the info on Egypt? Thanks, Dan

Since RS supports this web site, go ahead and splurge and buy the new book. Then you would have 2 books to take notes from.

I assume when you say "new History & Art" you're referring to Europe 101? Europe 101 and Mona Winks have distinctly different coverage and purposes: Mona Winks is simply a compilation of many of the self-guided tours from Rick's city and country books; whereas Europe 101 has a different purpose and broader coverage (which have been previously discussed here in some detail).
