Any feedback on how the walking tours/ museum tours went while actually traveling? Likes/ dislikes. Thanks!
Several:
London, Paris, Amsterdam, Venice, Rome- city walks and museums.
They're great! I used the Versailles one on my trip last month. It was fun to listen to, Rick puts in his typical corny jokes now and then to liven it up. It was also very easy to follow along with, telling you which way to turn and how to navigate. If you're going to listen on a smart phone or mp3 player and you have a travel partner, investigate 20 bucks or so for headphone splitters, so you can both plug in and listen on the same device.
Very helpful! We loved them in Venice and Rome. Listen to them before you leave to give you an idea of what you are going to experience.
Amy,
They are great! We have used Paris, Venice, Florence, and Rome. I personally like the walking tours. They point out unique things you might otherwise walk by and miss completely. I would agree that you should listen before you go. It was so great standing in front of Notre Dame and getting a detailed description of the facade just to name one. I would also suggest reading the guidebooks before you go. It is fun to have Rick in your ear and his fun little comments. The only negative I have is that it makes you a little less aware of your surroundings when you have the earbuds in and are walking around listeneing and looking for specific things. Still better than your nose in a book and looking around. I would highly recomend them.
