Before going on a river cruise from Bucharest to Vienna, we decided to tour a bit of Romania. With the help of this forum, we chose the 6 day Towns and Villages of Transylvania Tour with Covinnus Travel.
The tour was private - myself, my husband and a friend - and Valentina, our guide. Valentina was a fantastic guide (and driver). The trip began in Bucharest, to Sibiu, to Sighisoara, to Brasov and then returned to Bucharest. We stayed at terrific hotels, enjoyed local food and saw amazing sites all while learning about Romania, its history and its people.
We generally like to travel independently, but have found it's best to go with a guide for certain areas. Because of this experience we will be looking for more tour companies of this type.
A terrific experience, that we highly recommend.
