Reverse Converter

My father just returned from a trip to Germany. While there he had to replace his nebulizer(breathing treatment machine. It has the European 2 prong plug. It is 230V~50Hz 1A. All the reverse converters I've found have a watt limit. This machine does not list the watts. Does anyone know where I can get a converter, he really needs this machine on a daily basis. Please Help!!! Thank You.

You would be best off asking a medical supply company instead of a travel helpline.

Meri, How expensive is a U.S. nebulizer? He may be better off just buying a new machine here in the U.S. and keeping the European one for when he travels rather than spending money for a converter.

Calculating Watts is very easy. Volts times Amps equals Watts. 230V x 1A = 230W.

Meri, At 250 volts and 1, you likely won't have to worry about "watt limits". You might have a look at This Website. You'll need to look for a Step-Up Transformer (the "Type 2" shown on the website should work). The 0-500 watts model is priced at $25. You may be able to find these at Amazon or other sources, but I haven't checked. One concern is the fact that the specifications you listed indicate "50 Hz". You may need to check the website of the manufacturer to determine if the frequency rating is critical. I'm not thoroughly familiar with Nebulizers, but the operating frequency could be important if the device contains timing circuits. Good luck!
