Resort One Travel Club / Travel Clubs in general

Hi, We were invited to attend a seminar for a free cruise. They wanted us to purchase a membership in the travel club they were selling. The price went from about 9K to 4.5K to 2K. We left feeling we shouldn't have to buy that night to get the deals being offered. I researched what I could, but very little is available. Does anyone have first hand experience with Travel Clubs, and if so, what your experience has been? It was suggested I ask this question to the Travel Helpline by the Rick Steve's response to my initial email. I realize this isn't the main purpose of this site. Thanks for any help. Tom

Now, who's making money here? Not you. I would try a different approach to travel. Go to a reputable travel agent or Triple A and have a look at what they have. There is no free cruise.

I think you figured it out, but just in case... It's a scam, plain and simple. A "free" cruise you have to buy??? Run away, don't walk away, from this "opportunity" to lose your hard-earned money.
