Is it my old age or the old age of my computer, but the blue report choice which had been posted at the end of messages seems to have disappeared. Is that an internet failure, a choice made by the Rick Steves folks--any explanation?
Thanks
Joan,
The "report" button is still there.
Colette
I think you have to be logged in to see it.
I don't see it either, Joan.
I see it when I'm logged in.
Joan,
The "Report" flag isn't visible unless you're logged in. I just verified that, and it is there.
Joan, if you're talking about the option to report guideline abuses to the webmaster that used to appear at the end of all responses, then yes that is now gone, replaced by the 'report' button to the left of each post under poster's name, etc.
Yes, I also noticed that the "Report Violations to Webmaster" option at the end of the posting was gone. I'm glad there still is a report option since we seem to be getting a lot of violations lately.
Be careful. Sometimes violations are only in the eye of beholder. Other than our regular weekend spammer, I cannot say that I have seen many if any violations recently.
I have reported at least 5 Spam posts today. They are posted under Rick Steves tours. Have reported several each day. Always under that topic.
Thanks for the comments.
It's true that you have to be logged in for the Report button to appear, but I don't think is was like that previously.
It wasn't before because you supplied your email address in the report violation form. You could not make a report without your email address. Now that the report is just a button, the webmaster would not know who was making the report if you are not logged in. I think the idea is that they want to know who is filing the complaint just as before. As I stated before, other than our usual weekend spammer, everyone is being pretty civil. Must be the holiday spirits.
