Renting a (small) castle anywhere in Europe

I've wanted to live (or at least spend some time) in a castle for a long time. I've been searching the internet to find any small-ish castles that can be rented out.I guess it's reasonable that I've only found big ones, but I was wondering if anyone out there has any advice on finding a nice small castle to rent for a while over the summer.
Thanks

I'd check with the National Trust in the United Kingdom. I know they have some properties that are "self catering"- meaning you do the housekeeping and cooking. Some are cottages, some "stately homes" and I believe a few might be castles.

Not a bad rate (150 EUR a night) for a castle room with view, including breakfast!

My impression is, however, that you want to rent an entire castle -- not just a room in a castle? For that, I think you are probably looking at 1,500 EUR a night.

Landmark Trust in Uk might have something.

You wouldn't have the place to yourself..but could get a 2 bed room at Carrbisdale Castle

A relative of mine rented a lighthouse on Lundy Island a number of years ago through Landmark Trust. I like to think a small castle might also be on their list.

Not exactly what you were looking for, probably, but you can rent an outdoor area of Burg Nanstein in Landstuhl for parties. The castle is a partial ruin, however, so you can't sleep here (unless you pass out...)

Once you secure your stay at a castle, can I come visit you? :)
