I am renting a car in Munich and will be dropping it in Venice. Most agenices either don't let you do this or the drop fees are enormous, e.g. 800 Euro. Is anyone familiar with rental agencies that have more reasonable rates. Rick states that it varies widely. Thanks

I have dropped off at another location with Avis in Germany and the drop fee was small or zero, I don't remember exactly. But Italy may be different, even with Avis--I think you will get more advice on this from others.

You may save money by bookng a car in each country through which you plan to drive. Drop off a car as near to the border as possible, take public transportation to a pick-up point on the other side of the border and pick up your next car there.

I'd be surprised if Autoeurope charged you anything close to that. I'd expect more like 200 dollars.
