Removing Stains

I've seen sevearl older posts from 2011 on the subject but wondering if anyone has any current input. What do you take for getting out stains in your travels? Shout Wipe & Go packs, Tide 2 Go Stain wipes or something else? Thanks,

Only Shout (liquid) works well for me - so I do my best with the hotel soap and leave the real cleaning until I get back home.

They all work. I use the stick pens.

I've never really had good luck with those spot remover pens. I take a 3 oz. bottle of concentrated shout and soak the offending stain in a puddle of cold water with a few drop of the concentrated shout (overnight if possible). I also take two or three of those oxi-clean power packs to throw in the washing machine if I'm going to a self service laundry. (Be sure to pack them in a small ziplock baggie.) Doing laundry at a self service laundry need not be a waste of time - read up on tomorrow's activities, write post cards while eating ice cream (or whatever). I plan in a housekeeping/day off from site seeing every 7 to 10 days. I use drop off and pick up later in the day laundry services whenever possible - more nap time:)

I take a Tide to Go pen in my day pack. Each stain has a different remedy so you can't count on one product to remove everything. I think of Tide to Go as a pretreatment I can put on right away, then work on it more when I have time.

@Marie - thanks for the Oxi suggestion - I will throw a couple of those in next time!

If it is a small stain, I use the hotel soap and try to wash out the stain. We always take laundry soap and go to self-service laundromats when we need to wash clothes. Of course, it takes time away from our trip but we use it as down town to relax, read, talk to other people and try to enjoy the experience. I have not had good experience with Tide sticks or other stain removers. Whatever I was using removed the color from the shirt.

Tide ToGO stick. I used it this past week when I dripped coffee on my white shirt at the airport. No sign of a coffee stain. The small sticks at Target in the travel size area is about the size of lip balm.

Big fan of Tide to go! I always have one in reach and they have never failed me from red wine to spaghetti sauce! I don't know how they work - some kind of magic I say!
