Recommended Camera Bags

I am looking for recommendations for a good camera bag that will accommodate my Canon Xti with 18-55, 75-300, and wide angle lenses, plus flash, extra battery w/charger, extra memory cards, etc. I have a standard shoulder bag, but it is cumbersome, and difficult to use for quick lens changes.

Any experience with backpacks, slingshots, or other bags that are more comfortable and easier to use? Thanks in advance.

I personally have a Crumper 5 million dollar home model shoulder bag. It doesn't look like a camera bag (which is great) and holds a decent amount of stuff. Another brand that is good but less funky looking is ThinkTank.

I have always had the same problem! You want to get to it quickly but that is hard without carrying around your neck all the time. I just bought a Mountainsmith Lumbar pack that I am going to try next trip. I doubt it will hold the 75-300 lens but I think it'll hold the Canon (I have the same one) and one more smaller lens. I bought it from eBags. You are supposed to wear it on your back but it would be easy to swing it around to the front.

I like the Lowpro Slingshot series. We specifically have the 200 model, and while it took some time to get used to, once we figured it out, we can have our camera out of the bag and taking pictures in no time. Also, the way it works, it creates a sort of mini work area where it makes swapping lenses easier.

Hi Philip,
... a while ago I read an interesting blog at this Web site written by a photographer who reported using a Wal*Mart diaper bag to carry his gear and his camera. That bag has compartments that work well for camera stuff - and the diaper bag is waterproof, padded, inexpensive --- and who would want to steal it? Ansel Adams should have been so lucky! ....P
