My husband and I are traveling to Europe for the first time this summer. We will be there for 16 days. We bought plane tickets to Paris with the intention of continuing on to Budapest. We don't know if it'd be better to just buy plane tickets to Budapest or if it'd be possible/reasonable to take the rail to Budapest, stopping along the way. Any recommendations for itineraries??? Oh, and we'll be traveling with our 7 month old in a backpack.
Paris to Budapest by rail is 18 to 22 hours, one way. 18 hrs if you did it on the night train, 21 or 22 hrs if you did it during the day.
