Recommendation for cable lock?

I'm looking for recommendations about luggage lock or cable lock, i found this OnePlus locket, the customer review looks fine.

I believe cable lock is a must have for night trains, felt like my bag is more secure with it going through the zipper and around the handle of my suitcase, but there are overwhelming shops online, hope to hear your advice for a good one, don't want to take the risk of having it cut.

First: How many night trains are you planning to take? There are very few left in Europe.

Second: You are way overthinking and over concerned about luggage being stolen from trains. It did use to be a bigger issue several decades ago when people could just hop on and off trains. Now most are high speed, reservation only trains and some countries (notably Spain and the Eurostar) require going through security to board. There will not be gangs of thieves on trains cutting cables and locks. Some people still feel more comfortable securing their bag to the luggage rack so someone can't walk off with it (if just by accident), but for that I just use the shoulder strap or a cheap cable lock.

If you are just looking to lock the bag to keep someone from opening it, a standard TSA lock works just fine. Again, the intent is just to make it tricky to access, not make it Fort Knox. No one will sit at the end of a train car rummaging through bags.

Looks pretty light weight. Looks like they could be easily cut with a wire cutter. For generally locking of the zippers I use plastic wire ties. For $20 I could buy three to four hundred cable ties. Cheap and durable just be sure to keep something to cut the tie (I used a toe nail clipper) in an unsecured pocket. I do use a three foot or so cable lock to secure a couple of bags together in the luggage bins. That way the luggage cannot be accidentally taken if we are not near the luggage. For the overhead rack I would hook a strap or something through a rib of the rack just so it cannot be easily grabbed. I would never lock any of my luggage to anything solid in the train for fear of not being able to get it unlocked. Over the years I have had two of those three or four wheel combo locks fail. It was inconvenient both times.

If you're travelling on night trains, you'll generally have a Couchette or compartment, and you should be able to keep your luggage with you. If you're travelling on day trains, are concerned about security and your luggage is on the luggage racks at the end of the car, it's a good idea to keep a close watch on it. While theft of luggage doesn't happen often, I have seen it happen in the last few years.

In any case, it's a good precaution to keep your luggage locked, and for that you can use the cable locks provided (which appear to be TSA approved) or just a small luggage lock. I've been using these for several years, and they work well - https://store.ricksteves.com/shop/p/luggage-cable-lock (basically the same as the ones you linked).

Cable locks are intended to keep mostly honest people honest. A cable lock, especially a TSA cable lock isn't much of a deterrent. I've heard that even a Kryptonite New York bike lock (16mm hardened steel shackle) doesn't stop New York bike thieves. Keep you passport, cards and cash on you next to your skin.

" I've heard that even a Kryptonite New York bike lock (16mm hardened steel shackle) doesn't stop New York bike thieves."

That's very true! Due to the common availability of battery powered cutting tools, many locks are just a minor inconvenience for thieves.

Bike dept. at Walmart or similar will have locks. Nothing wrong with slowing down or deterring a thief. Keep in mind a determined thief can cut open a bag or pry apart a zipper with a basic tool. Any lock that you can purchase will help. Just read some online lock reviews, then buy it locally. Check out hardware dept.s as well. For example, I read Lewis & Clark brand had problems with breaking and not being able to open. I have personally used the Kryptonite bike cable lock - mainly at water parks. Works well to stop a "snatch and go" thief. A combo. Lock is more convenient than a key type lock. I have used both.

It's considered selfish to connect your luggage to the luggage rack with a cable lock or other apparatus.
The reason is that people tend to re-arrange luggage if they can't fit their property in the racks, and you risk having something in your luggage damaged if it can't be moved due to a cable lock.
If you have a direct train, and if you are prepared to get on the train first, you can stow your luggage and lock it in the back of the lowest rack, so not to inconvenience other people.
If you will be in sleeper cars, you should stow your luggage in your "room".

I checked local store, Lewis & Clark brand and Kryptonite are kind of too expensive for me.:-(

A cable lock won't deter thieves, unless you invest in something like a Kryptonite lock or extremely heavy cable lock, which will be heavy and expensive.

If you are staying in your sleeping car, you can just use those webbed luggage straps to keep everything together. Cost: about 6 EU each.
