Recharging an iPod touch

Has anyone had any problems charging an iPod touch in Europe? On our last trip I "fried" my curling iron and certainly don't want that to happen with my iPod! Also, how have iPod owners used their iPods in Europe? We're going to Germany & Italy. Are there particular downloads/programs that would help us? Thanks!

Look on the back of your wall charger if it says 120v-240v (or 220v)it will not fry in europe. You just need an adaptor. Very few curling irons aare dual voltage and they require more power than a travel transformer produces. I think everyone frys curling irons and straighteners, so don't let your last trip worry you.

I have a wall charger that I just put a plug adaptor on (bought it at Target, I think). iPods are dual voltage already, so you won't fry it. I keep audiobooks, some music, and podcasts/travel guides on mine. It's nothing fancy, just a 4 GB nano.

I bought the international adaptor kit for my iTouch through Apple. I didn't want to take any chances. I had also heard that iPods can get fried when charged in foreign countries but I had no trouble on my recent trip. You might post your question on the Mac Forums site: http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/

Do you have a wall charger already? Or are you planning to get one? Most will be dual voltage and will work perfectly fine in Europe (with the adapter of course). Actually, in general, most iPod accessories are compatible.

This isn't related (well not quite), but I would suggest you browse through the App Store to see if any applications could be useful for your trip. There's so many of them, and a lot are free (or very cheap).

Hi,

I have traveled in Europe with an iPod. In December, I took my Touch on a trip to Germany, Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. I recharged it with my wall charger and a plug adapter. The Touch is dual voltage. You should not have any problems at all.

In addition to using the Touch for music and movies, I enter all my hotel, flight, and contacts (both at home and for the trip) into my Touch.

I use the Air Sharing app to store my itineray and other documents on the Touch.

It is a great tool for travel info!
