I am heading for paris in late October or early November. Wanted to stay in St. Germain des Pres area, at a smaller hotel for less $$. I once stayed in a small hotel on Rue St. Benoit. Any suggestions?
I would like to piggy-back on Pam's request. We are 4, traveling to Paris the last week in May. Would like a clean and reasonably priced (less than $150 night)to stay. We could be 2 to a room or 4 to a room. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Pam, this is an old hotel with 19 rooms and bargain rates. The location can't be beat - it's directly across the Seine river from Notre Dame. From there, it is only a matter of minutes by Metro to most places in Paris. The above web site includes comments of former patrons, plus their candid photos.
Hope there is still time to make a res. P.
This is not in the area you want but Hotel Porte Doree is a reasonably priced hotel. NO frills, but its clean, convenient to the metro, and inexpensive.

I stayed there 3 years ago, and asked for the non smoke rooms facing the street. Its not for the light sleeper as you can hear the metro at night.
