I would like to know if anyone is aware if the Charlie Chaplan hotel is still running in Haarlem, Netherlands?

Shannon, I wasn't able to find any references to that Hotel at all, so I suspect it's either closed or operating under a different name. Trip Advisor only has about 13 listings in Haarlem, and that's not one of them. Good luck!

As a regular visitor to Haarlem, I'm sorry I've never heard of it. Where is it supposed to be located?

It's Chaplin with an "i" but I still couldn't find it on tripadvisor.com or a general search on google. There's one in West Hollywood with 14 bungalows that is on property that he once owned but nothing in Haarlem that I could find. I also tried Vevey, the Chaplins' last home but found nothing.

I stayed there three different times, the last time in 2002? It was a hotel/apartment above a bar/cafe and it was right off the square about a block from the train station. It is too bad because it was very reasonable and the largest apartment has a kitchen!

Shannon, I'd suggest checking Trip Advisor to find an alternate Hotel, and check out the Charlie Chaplin Hotel on your next visit to Haarlem. You could also book a few nights in a Hostel, and if you find the Hotel IS still operating, find out if they have a vacancy. Be sure to let us know if the Hotel is still there, as the information may be useful for others. Good luck!
