Rain, rain go away in Rome

Greetings-
We will be in Rome from April 2-7. I've noticed it will rain pretty much the entire time. How reliable are the weather reports for this part of Italy? In other words-can the weather be unpredictable in Rome??

"Can the weather be unpredictable in Rome?"Yes, weather forecasts for Rome are about as accurate or non-accurate as forecasts here--it's just a prediction. You're still 5 to 10 days out from your time in Rome. I have not looked at any current forecasts. But for the last 10 years, in Rome during the period April 2 - 7, there has been rain (sometime during the day) only on 8 days out of a total 60 days of data (6-day period x 10 years = 60 days of data).Unfortunately, that historical data, and $1.50, will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I'm trying to make you feel better.Go here to look at the weather data for Rome for the last 10 years for April 2 - 7: http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/LIRU/1994/4/2/PlannerHistory.html?dayend=7&monthend=4&yearend=1994If you get to about 48 hours out from your time in Rome, if the weather forecasts are all saying lots of rain, then you might start believing it.

Yes, Kent is exactly on target. I would not worry about the weather forecast until a couple of days before you depart. Usually in early April we do get rain, so bring your gear and umbrella! The weather changes through the day. Most mornings are a little brisk but by mid-afternoon you're peeling off clothing! At night, it's usually quite nice.

These last couple of weeks have been GREAT, with highs in the mid 60's and a lot more sun than last year in March. We've had some flooding in December, but as of late, the rain has been far less than expected. Yesterday was overcast, today - first day of daylight's saving in Rome - is again overcast, but not raining yet!

Ciao,
Ron

Will $1.50 really get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks?
