In Frankfurt, March and April have the lowest rainfall totals, on average.

From the charts I found on the internet, it looks like April is neither the wettest nor the driest month in Bavaria. From personal experience, rain storms, although somewhat frequent, rarely last longer than an hour.

According to the chart in Rick's Germany guidebook, Munich has 15 rainless days (aver) in April.

I was in the Mittelrhein area of Germany for six days in April, 2004, and it rained one day.

Oh, Germany does what ever it wants. April can be perfectly lovely or rain every day and next year could be completely different. Seriously! We could have snow or sunny warm days. Especially Bavaria, always has a chance of snow even late in the spring. I would be prepared for rain and then be thrilled when it doesn't.

LOL! In 2007 we were in Germany for about 8 days and rain was forecast every day...and it never rained! Of course, it always LOOKED like it was going to rain, so you obeyed the rain gods and dressed appropriately, only for the gods to laugh at you at the end of the day.

In 2005 we were in southern Germany for about 10 days in April and it was so hot you were sweating on the streetcars.

When I lived there 20 years ago, the first year I was there it seemed to rain all year long, even in the summer. One of the 4 years I was there they had a heatwave. But, it does rain alot there in the Spring.
