Railpass

How long is a railpass valid from date of purchase?

"After you buy a pass, you have six months to validate it in Europe. The above quote is from "Railpasses" on this website (banner at top of page). Look under "1. How rail passes work", "Buying your pass". PS: I never use rail passes. I compare them with point-point tickets bought at the counter over there, regional passes, and advance purchase discount tickets and always find it's that they are cheaper than rail passes.

Sounds like you maybe already bought your pass? If so, take heart - they can be a good option if you plan to do a lot of travel by train. I found railpasses to be invaluable in my student days... I often did a long-haul overnight trip between destinations in order to save money on hostels/hotels.
