Rail Pass Select- 4 countries including France

Hi,

I want to purchase the new Select Rail Pass , 4 countries including France. This is available for purchase as of April 1.
However I am leaving Melbourne Australia where I live on April 10. Will there be enough time to have it delivered to me before I leave?
Second question: can I purchase through this website or what would be the best website to use?

Thanks Lee, Nancy and Emma for your comments. The price for the most useful answer though goes to.....Emma!
I will be visiting the websites you suggested and after buying the pass on April 1 , cross my fingers that I will receive the pass in a week, just days before I leave.

Hendrik,

Have you viewed the many threads on this helpline which advocate purchase of the tickets you need, point to point, as in most cases the pass will cost rather than save you money?

You don't say which 4 countries you will be in, nor what level of transport you will be using, but be advised if your travel includes Switzerland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, or Italy there are major things you need to be aware of if you are contemplating using a railpass there.

Hi Nigel,

Thanks heaps for your comment and contribution to my little dilemma. I have indeed done what you suggested previously on about three different websites, in addition to info I found on Rick Steve's. Although I am still waiting on answers from the two websites suggested by one of the ladies , about the price for the Select Pass I want , I'm presuming the price will be similar to other currently existing 4 country passes. If my presumption is correct then , from what I have found so far, I will be far better of with the pass.

Why are you presuming this? Have you checked out the cost of point to point tickets using the websites of each country's national rail carrier (not RailEurope, not Rick Steves)? I would pretty much guarantee you that point to point will be cheaper than a pass.
