"The Man in Seat 61" has a TV Pilot!

Have any of you seen this yet? I felt much trepidation...until I viewed the pilot episode. I Want More! I hope the following episodes (if there are any - fingers crossed) have a bit more 'train', and Mark, in them...I loves me some trains! Of course, these 'stupid travel shows' make it very difficult for me to now shift gears and go mop my kitchen floor :-(

Eileen, That's why you should have floors that don't show the dirt. Then you have plenty of time for travel shows, the helpline, and all the other important ways to waste, oops...I mean spend your time. ;-)

More more more! Eileen, you can hire out the floormopping. You have to watch stimulating and educational travel shows for yourself.

Man, that was great. It hits everything we love: Trains, travel, European destinations, history, good food & beverage, and venerable comfortable traveling companions. Really nice. Thanks for the link!

I've been hoping for some time that it would take off. He's had the pilot on the website for nearly a year, I would guess, and doesn't have seemed to have got much further. If he ever did make it I know I would watch it, as I am sure many others would. I can't quite make out what the roadblock is.

That was wonderful. I thought it really showed trains at their best and Brussels at its' best too. Why I like both of them. Can't wait for more epsisodes to be produced.

Great episode, I'd definitely watch more. What we have on the Travel Channel in the US rarely satisfies anymore...

Excellent. Eileen, Thank you so much. Maybe Rick should do a show with Mark Smith.

You're welcome, Everybody! Mais zut alors, Nigel - I've never noticed this on his homepage before, yet it jumped out at me yesterday...Although lately I've usually just Googled "man in seat 61 germany" or something like that, and the link to the pilot seems to be only on his homepage. On the other hand, I DID learn that those funny Brits ;-) use the term 'taster/pilot' for what Americans simply refer to as 'pilots'...I jolly well like the term!!! Just a little 'taste'... Nigel, if you'd be a dear and bop over to Mark's and see what the problem is...we'd all appreciate it. Mona, I hear you. The Travel Channel...isn't. "Man vs Food", "Ghost Adventures", "Bert the Conquerer"...aren't. Years ago I actually heard someone from the channel try to defend their nearly 24/7 poker shows as 'travel shows' - 'they're playing in Las Vegas, they're playing in Monte Carlo', etc. Nope...not even close. They're playing in a dark room... To all who suggested I didn't need to clean the floors - THANKS! More time for my " stimulating and educational travel shows" ;-) I'm thinking of putting my cats in plastic bags - their heads would stick out of the open end, and I'd cut tiny holes for their feet, et Voila! MUCH less fur to sweep. I think it could work... Perhaps dreadlocks...or Bo Derek braids...(smacks forehead) THAT will be the next Travel Channel show - "International Cat Hairstyles"! Sounds better than poker...

Wow - I thought for sure that Nigel would've been back by now with wonderful news...I've obviously asked the wrong person to help us out (shaking head disapprovingly) ;-)
