Quick US Passport Renewal - 2025

We had the same experience with our passport renewal. After renewal we were able to use the UK.gov apps to get our UK ETA travel approvals and that also worked very smoothly with approval arriving by email within 30 seconds or so.

Everybody on the forum probably already knows this but it was news to me so I will share.....your new passport number does not automatically synch with your Trusted Traveler/Global Entry account. You have to go in and edit your profile. I hope that helps someone avoid a travel problem.

Yes, take a close look at your color picture on the passport. In tiny letters are your name, DOB and Passport number repeated all over the photo.

Our passport renewals came quickly also- within a month. We did the regular service, not expedited
And yes, you need to update your Global Entry to put the new passport number.
And we had to update our New Zealand ETA also with the new passport number.

I just renewed online today…hopefully the photo will be accepted as it was difficult to do that even following their guidelines. The service isn’t expedited so the possibility of 3 weeks or less would be great.

I'm sending it in too, using the form from the post office, which in SF is available now only in 2 offices. Service in the other offices in SF has been abolished.
