help! we leave for italy and israel in 2 weeks and i cannot find anywhere quick drying underwear small enough for my 10 yo boy. all i can find is cotton everywhere. the rest of the family has the high tech underwear except my boy. any suggestions? thank you, alison
Bring enough pairs that it won't matter if they take two days to dry, this assumes you are not moving every day.
One other idea,, and I don't know how big your son is, but, silky type( usually polyester ) BOXER shorts dry very fast,, see if you can find some small ones of those. Just be sure to really squish the waist band in a dry towel as that area takes the longest to dry and you wouldn't want him to get a rash around tummy.
Just so you know, it is possible to not use "high tech " undies.. I bought some very expensive ones once,, I found cheap polyester ones were just as good.
Underarmor boxerjocks are great. I think you can get them in boys sizes at a sporting goods store. They're expensive but work great and seem to last forever. I bought some for travel and am now phasing out my cotton underwear completely.
Alternatively, you could buy some boxers in 50/50 cotton/poly blend. I think they would dry overnight.
Would regular nylon underwear in the 3 pack at stores such as Target fit your son? These can be washed easily in a sink and dry in no time flat. Have a great time, and shalom! This year in Jerusalem?
i love all your replies. i ordered one pair of small underarmour and will see how big they are. what i need is an extra small. target shows no nylon on their website. and yes, we can flip the underwear inside out. i see an entrapreneurial opportunity here. nylon underwear for boys!
Thin cotton boxers would dry quickly. Take 3-4 pairs and you'll be fine. If he's not wearing boxers yet, he will in a few years. No self respecting tween/teen would wear tightie whities. Got to have the boxers showing above the sagging jeans.
