Question About R.S. Bag

I own the previous model Rick Steves Convertible Carry-On Bag. Can anyone tell me the purpose of the small loops of string tied to each zipper? Also, why is one of these strings red, while the others are black?

Hi Lamont,

The little strings are called "zipper pulls", they're just to make it easier to get a firm grip on the zippers. The red string is to make it easy to find the specific zipper which is the one that will "expand" the bag.
