Putting Metamucil in checked luggage

Hi everyone. Hubby and I leave Saturday for our five week trip - assuming Dorian will be out of our way. Without going into a lot of details, hubby needs to take Metamucil every day. We buy it in a large container, which would be really hard to pack. Can I put it in little individual packets and put them in our checked luggage or will it not make it through screening?

Tried to search if we could buy it when we get to Beaune, but wasn't able to figure it out.

Thanks for your help.

My husband packs this too and about 1/2 the time security wants to see in his bag but they've always let it through. He buys a huge container but has one smaller container he must have once bought which he refills for traveling.

Camping stores have an infinite array of sizes of containers for backpackers to take just enough of what they need. If you don't want to buy a small Metamucil package - package your own.

Metamucil also comes in capsules, which may be easier to deal with in a carry on, since it isn't either a liquid or a powder, and you can pack it in the bottle it comes in.

So - if I have packaged my own in individual packets, will it be okay in our checked bag?

Lois: Read about the capsules, but according to the website, it takes 5 capsules to equal one serving.

I guess since I already have it in individual daily packets, I'll put it in our checked bag and hope for the best.

Thanks all.

Not the cheapest alternatives, but these are options I have used in the past for convenience purposes. Note that the link is to a different brand (so not sure if they'll work for your hubby) but I'm sure Metamucil has similar options:

Have a good trip!

I placed metamucil powder in a quart bag with the labeling in carry on, May 2019. It was checked for explosives powders at SLC. I placed it in the outside pocket. Then, I went forward to enjoy multiple doses of metamucil. I chuckled with security. By the way our bikes for travel have been checked for explosives for years! I just placed metamucil n the carry on.
