We're planning a trip to Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria and Czech Republic. Any suggestions on where (near the Hauptbahnhof in Frankfurt) to buy a couple cheap cell phones to use on our trip? Do we need to purchase a different phone card for each country we are going to visit?
From Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof take an U- or S-Bahn to "Hauptwache", which is 2 stations away. Alight and locate the "Kaufhof" department store. Right behind it (on either side) you can enter the shopping mall "MyZeil" and take the escalator up to the "Saturn" store. There you can get a state of the art cell fone that works in Europe as well as in the US (brand name phone, Samsung, Nokia etc.) for €80 to €150. That would be a non-SIM-locked without any kind of rate plan/contract. Regarding your SIM card(s): Which countries are you going to visit?
Thank you. We already have phones for the US. I was hoping to find a cheap, unlocked, even used phone just for use on our trip. Countries to visit are Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria and Czech Republic.
