Traveling to Europe in August, should I purchase tickets now, or wait?
Yes! Now and Wait!
CheapAIr says 27 to 114 days prior to departure. But what if you are picky about flights and seats? Then maybe not. Of course their survey is good except for the exceptions. Is your flight going to be an exception? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm https://www.cheapair.com/blog/travel-tips/when-to-buy-airline-tickets-based-on-1-5-billion-airfares/
Thank you!
Have you been tracking the flights at all?
It is good if you have time to do that so then you'll know a good deal when you see it. I watch them all the time and often buy about 6 months out. All but once they continued to climb higher. Last summer had I waited I could have done better, but you just never know. Start watching them and if you see a price you can live with then buy them.
Hi,
For a trip in August flying from the US, I would buy the ticket now, definitely by the first week in May.
Do you know your proposed flight plans (IN to where, RETURN from where?) Sometimes this forum can help suggest more efficient/less expensive ways. Once you purchase, you're mostly locked in.
You need to track flights. If it were a European travelling to your side of the pond, tickets would have been booked months ago!
The dollar is strong at present. Once the Brexit mess is sorted out, the pound and the euro should strengthen.
