Can anyone provide information on whether or not encryption is used for purchasing tickets (museums, sites, etc.) when using public wi-fi while in Europe? In the U.S., companies use https, VPN, or encryption for secure transactions but I don't know what is used in Europe, if any. Thx.
It all works the same way no matter where you are in the world: e-commerce transactions are encrypted.
You might also look into subscribing to a private VPN service. That will at least encrypt the portion your data travels over wifi. Unfortunately, not every site uses HTTPS (or something similar), here or in Europe.
