Promenade Plantee to Chateau Vincennes

Hi wondering if someone can help. I want to walk along the Promenade Plantee from Bastille and walk all the way to Chateau Vincennes. I believe you have to get down from the promenade to enter the Bois de Vincennes and had read somewhere the exit is closed. Has anyone done this walk and know how I get off the promenade to get to the Chateau? thank you

Hi Adele, You may have already left for Paris and this will be redundant, but we did this walk in May this year, and it was so worth doing. The promenade and the chateau are gorgeous! Getting off at the Bois end was easy ... you come to a green iron spiral staircase which actually takes you UP from the promenade to street level. (There's a path that goes up as well, on the right just before you get to the stairs, if for some reason the stairs are inaccessible.) When you hit street level, it gets a bit tricky and you have to get over the Boulevard Périphérique ring road. There may be an easier way of doing this, but we turned left at street level and walked past a roadworks depot on the right until we came to a road crossing the freeway .. I think it was Ave Daumesnil ... then walked to Ave de Minimes, turned left into Cours des Maréchaux, and the chateau is on the right. The Chateau du Vincennes metro station is to the right of the front entrance if you don't feel like trekking back on foot! Cheers,
Lee

Thanks so much Lee, I was starting to wonder if it was even possible. I don't go to later in the year, and UP to get to the street is a good tip. Thanks once agan
