Problems Buying Eurail Pass With CitiCard

A little background:
We are preparing for a trip to the UK & France. We have successfully purchased flight & hotels with our Citicard.

The last major purchase attempt, with the same Citicard, has been flagged as fraudulent. My husband spent more than two hours with Citicard to clear this up. Finally the charge was approved.

The following day, we got an Email from Eurail saying the purchase was denied. We replied to that Email with a screen shot showing the charge was approved. So far no replies from Eurail.

Does anyone have a phone number for Eurail?

Has anyone had a similar problem & what did you do to resolve the issue?

If you can cancel the transaction from your end, do so. Then just buy your ticket using PayPal as the payment method.

The Eurail pass isn't advantageous in France. You still have to buy expensive seat reservations, which are limited in number. If you can wiggle out of the transaction, and save your money, you'd be better off buying point-to-point tickets for France on SNCFCONNECT.

There is a phone number for Eurail....1-888-901-6734.

I used it a few years ago, got through. Hopefully it still works. I talked to a staff member instead of some machine prompts, etc.

When one card doesn't work, use another. One of the rules of travel.

After finding the Eurail chat line, we received an Email confirming, after ten attempts with two credit cards, that our Eurail pass has been issued.

The phone number given was for a medical response team.

I’m hoping that you realize that you just wasted a ton of money on those passes.
