Hello, I will have one week to travel with my husband, who is going to Germany for work. I will travel with him before his work trip or after. I wanted to know what would be the best places for us to visit. We are in our mid 30's. I will not be able to drink :( Would prefere something warm but not hot. Let us know your thoughts. thanks,
Punam
Rome will be decent, not hot yet. From Germany( where in Germany) you can get a flight on one of the inter europeon airlines. Helps if we know where in Germany you will be.
I will be flying directly from the US to our European destination. He will come from Frankfurt. He has never travelled in Europe and I have only been to London, Paris and Amsterdam. Maybe somewhere in Italy, Spain, or Germany?
If you're in Greensboro, I assume you'll be flying through Charlotte possibly on U.S. Airways. In April, U.S. Air's only direct service goes to London Heathrow and Frankfurt out of Charlotte. Unfortunately, Frankfort doesn't have as many budget air carriers as other European cities to take you to other places.
Have you considered meeting him in Frankfurt and taking trains over to Munich, Salzburg and/or Vienna? They're Great European cities.
Thank you for your responses. I really like the idea of Munich, Salzburg and Vienna. Can we do all three in a week?
Munich/Vienna/Salzburg is easy to do. Maybe even include Hallstatt.
My wife was 6 months pregnant when we once took a trip to Paris > Avignon > Nice > Genoa > Florence > Assisi > Rome via Eurail pass. The only difficulty she had was negotiating the steep steps up and down Assisi. That is a hill town in every sense of the word. Had we known ahead of time, we would not have gone there. Otherwise, she said no problems. Make sure you have trip cancellation/medical coverage just in case.
