Looking for information on whether or not it is necessary to pre-book activities for the My way Alpine Europe tour. I am thinking that I should book the sound of music tour, but are there any other things that require advance booking?

We went on this tour this June and the only thing I pre-booked was the Hohenschwangau Castle in Fussen. (We were not interested in touring Neuschwanstein but did go up to the bridge to take pictures.) There was a couple on our tour who wanted to visit the castle but had not booked ahead and no more tickets were available the day we were there. We did not take the Sound of Music tour, so I can't comment on that.
We did not pre-book any cable cars except for the Aiguille du Midi, and we did that just the day before we went up. I would recommend downloading the SBB app for the trains, cable cars and gondolas in Switzerland. It made buying tickets very easy.
You might get more responses if you post this subject in "Rick Steves Tours". It's a fantastic tour.
