Hi, I have finally decided on London-Prague- Vienna for our trip this June. We decided to do Italy (hopefully) next year. Not sure if which will be the last place before We fly back to San Francisco. We have been to London but it will be our first time in Prague and Vienna. Thanks for your help.
What would be your days spent in either?
Hi Alex, We are planning on 4 days in each city including traveling time. We will fly from London to either Vienna or Prague.
It does not really matter. I would decide based on airfare London - Prague or L - V and then V-SF or P-SF and also convenience of flight schedule. Train between P and V takes about 4 hours.
4 days is a good way to get a little taste of Wien...a real jewel. What are your interests as far as art, architecture, music, food, etc?
Hi Alex, we like a little of everything- castles, architectures, music and food. I took a quick look at Wien and it looks beautiful. Is it far from Vienna? Will it just be a side trip? We are thinking of Salzburg .Not sure if there is time for Halsted.

Wien=Vienna
Wien is how you say Vienna in Austria. So to answer your questions, it isn't far from Vienna, it is Vienna. It isn't a side trip - it is Vienna.
Fly to Prague and take the train down to Vienna. Then fly home from Vienna.
Thanks Emily for the clarification.
Sally,
Like Ilja, I would base my choice of order on airfare. Check the flights London to Vienna & Prague to SFO versus London to Prague & Vienna to SFO. Then just take a train between the two cities.
Another possibility of a side trip while in Vienna would be Bratislava, Slovakia - another capital city just down the river. I did the opposite - stayed in Bratislava (cheaper plus could fly in by Ryanair) and took a day trip to Vienna. The train or hydrofoil will get you to Bratislava in about an hour - it has a really nice old town part of the city, a castle and more.
Thanks Devon, I will look into it . If not to stay then a possible sidetrip
I wouldn't take a night away and stay in Bratislava - stay in Vienna. Easier to stay in one place than switch around. I differ from George in that I think it's a cool spot to see for a day or half a day, but it may also be a difference in age and interests. (Not sure how old George is but I'm in my 20s). Check out what's there and see if it interests you. You don't have to decide ahead of time - decide while you're in Vienna, see if you think you've seen enough there and want to take a day trip or not.
