Prague and Lake Como

hello travel gurus,
my husband and I are starting to talk about our Anniversary trip in 2026.
We've both chosen a country/location we each have really wanted to go to.
I chose Prague and my husband chose Lake Como.
I definitely know this is a loaded multiple part question, but I guess my first question is:
1. is this doable? we would fly from Philadelphia to Prague, stay in Prague for 5 nights, then flight from Prague to Zurich, then train from Zurich to Lake Como, and stay in Lake Como for 5 nights. -- is there a better flight from Prague to get to Lake Como? is Milan better? or is there another city we should consider?
2. is 5 nights in Lake Como too long?
3. what's a good itinerary for both Prague 5 nights and Lake Como 5 nights?
4. is there a good time of year to visit both Prague and Lake Como? not too busy/hot? We can't go in August, September, or October because I'm a high school tennis coach, but any other month, we're good for!

I know I'm all over the place, luckily this trip isn't happening until 2026. so I have some time!
any ideas/tips, I'm all ears!

Fly from Prague to Milan. EasyJet has flights. Into Prague and out of Milan on United with plane change in Frankfurt.
How about May or June?

No, five nights on Lake Como isn’t too long! I would go there as often as possible!
Personally, I would spend all my time on Lake Como! Prague was ok but I have no desire to return there.

I agree unless you want to spend time in Switzerland, why not just fly to Milan?

To me it would depend on whether there is a practical train route between Zurich and Lake Como that is mountainous and scenic. Alpine scenery, even just from the train, would give you a very different experience from Prague and Lake Como. I'm afraid I can't help by suggesting a routing that's high on mountains and low on tunnels, but perhaps someone else can.

Unless you specifically want to see the Swiss Alps I’d suggest flying into Milan for Lake Como. It’s much closer and doesn’t require you to cross any high mountain passes. We were there a couple years ago and drove from Brescia to Como for the day and then drove on to Malpensa for the last night before flying home. Having a car was very helpful in the lakes area. That’s the other advantage to flying to Milan, you could fly back from there and avoid a long trek back to Zurich to return a car or an expensive one-way rental charge. Good luck with the trip!
