Power adapter suggestions

This being my first trip I need a power adapater for my accessories. I will have laptop, iphone, camera and electric shaver. I would like to get something that has the ability to charge at least 2-3 of these at a time. Any suggestions and recommendations are greatly appreciated. I will be going to England, Ireland, France, Germany, Czech Rep. Thanks

If your talking about power converters, you probably won't need one. Check the specs on each item, if they say something like "Ac input 110v-240v", then you don't need a converter just a plug adapter. You can purchase plug adapters for $1.00 each on this website. Click the "travel store" tab above.

Lets make sure we understand the terms. First you will need a plug adapter and you will need one for England and another one for the rest of Europe. Any travel store, Target, etc., will have them. Second, check the input requirements of ALL of your electronics. I am guessing all will say something like 120-240 v. IF it indicates only 120 or 125 volts. Then you will need a converter. Also the converter MUST be rated for the wattage need. Small converters will handle up to 50 watts which will include all electronics. Get a small power strip if you want to charge more than one item at a time.

David,

The first thing you'll need to do is to check the power supply / charger for EACH of the devices you'll be travelling with. Specifically, you're looking for the Input Voltage ratings. If these state 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz. then you will only need inexpensive Plug Adapters.

You'll need Plug Adapters in any case. As you're travelling both to the U.K. and the continent, you'll need two different kinds. The U.K. Adapter looks like This (grounded model shown) while the Euro Adapter looks like This (ungrounded model shown).

If you could post more specific information on what the spec's are for your appliances, it would be easier to offer more detailed advice. You MAY OR MAY NOT also require a Voltage Converter?

Regarding the electric shaver, I find that I only need to charge mine every couple of days.

Regarding your IPhone, be sure to disable the data portion of the phone when in Europe (unless you've arranged a "roaming plan"), as you could find a VERY expensive bill waiting for you when you get home. Check with AT&T for the details and costs.

Cheers!

If I'm reading this right, you're looking for one or two devices to charge all of your tech stuff.

Check out Callpod. They have numerous products for multiple charging.

Thanks for the replies. I see what you are saying by the converter and not needing it, all of my things are 100-240v, so no matter 110 or 220 it will be fine.

The plugs I will need and will probably just get here since being so cheap. I will probably just get a small power strip to plug up to the adapter plugs.

Thanks again all!
